Joel is retained by companies of all sizes, including innovative start-ups, to act as their General Counsel and Company Secretary. In these roles, Joel brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and strategy development. Joel’s extensive cross-border experience is an asset to his clients who transact around the world.
As a litigator, Joel has appeared before State Supreme Courts, the Full Federal Court, as well as international and domestic arbitral tribunals.
Joel is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. He is also a Chartered Secretary and Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute.
Katy’s corporate, commercial and regulatory experience includes advising clients across a range of sectors. Her experience includes commercial transactions, corporate advisory, corporate structuring and restructuring, capital raisings and risk management.
As a litigator, Katy has advised clients in all facets of general commercial litigation, including contract, trade practices, administrative law, regulatory proceedings, franchising, intellectual property, employment law, insolvency and construction and infrastructure.
Katy is admitted to both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia and has acted for clients in both State and Federal Courts and has also been involved in a Commission of Inquiry in Queensland.
Her areas of practice focus on general commercial contracting and transactions, privacy and data law, managing and protecting intellectual property rights, and advising corporate clients on consumer protection provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act and Australian Financial Services regulation. Sheridan also frequently advises clients in relation to cybersecurity and ISO 27001 compliance.
Sheridan has a background of more than 15 years as a corporate affairs adviser, providing media relations, strategic communication and reputation management advice to corporate and government sector organisations. Such experience, coupled with her legal skills, provides her clients with access to pragmatic and contextually insightful advice.
Sheridan is admitted to both the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Her experience includes conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing a variety of documents, such as board resolutions, meeting minutes, and governance policies. She also coordinates company officeholder and shareholder meetings, including preparing agendas, committee papers and taking minutes. Chelsea also assists in maintaining clients’ statutory books and records.
Chelsea is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws at Bond University.
